Selena De La Cruz is an audio engineer who has done stadium sound for the Tennessee Titans, is a sound technician for the TV show Titan’s Blitz, post-production mixer for Hen House Live Venues, and a freelance audio engineer for other miscellaneous projects.

During her time in Belmont University, she has done location recording for Belmont’s Choral and Jazz Band, and recorded, edit/tune, mix, and master music for songwriter majors and college bands. She got her first hands-on console experience with 34 Music Square East property:  Columbia Studio A and the Quonset Hut and Ocean Way Nashville Studios’ Neve 8078. Later on she interned at Starstruck Studios to gain more recording and mixing experience on there SSL 9000J console and 6 months later interned at Digital Audio Post, Inc. where she did sound design, edit, foley, and ADR rerecording for commercials, an audio book, dailies, and small and large features. After college, she got an opportunity to work television production for Vanderbilt University’s Anchor Down Productions and did several task such as gripping, audio/video setups, and working as a sound technician on the field. This experience led her to work on truck productions with Second Wind Productions LLC and started her audio career at Nissan Stadium.

While her main aspirations are in sound design for animation and recording symphonies, she has strived to engage in many different sides of the audio industry including music, post production, podcasts, broadcast, and location recording. She is passionate about the creative and technical nuances that go into audio, and enjoys portraying a story or emotion through sound.

Selena wants to grow as a diversified audio engineer and hopes to mentor younger generations in the future. She plans to streamline new and interesting news within the audio industry and provide educational videos for people interested in sound design, sound reinforcement, mixing, recording, and editing. Selena wants to one day build a respected commercial studio with a much needed large recording space for a 100-piece orchestra in Nashville and a post-production house that focuses on Dolby Atmos, the future format of Cinematic Audio.

Tyler Atwell
Audio Engineer at SDLC Audio

Tyler Atwell is the second engineer at SDLC Audio and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering. Tyler has a strong musical background including classical guitar, contemporary guitar, and vocal techniques. He focused on tracking, mixing, mastering, and live sound reinforcement for music early on in his career and has moved into sound design, Foley, ADR, and mixing for picture. Tyler has also learned how to implement audio in the Unity game engine  as well as the game audio middleware FMOD. From Digital Audio Post to the Tennessee Titans, Selena and Tyler have been a duo from the very start of their careers. As the second head of this studio and a formidable engineer, Tyler hopes to emphasize the perfectionism, quality, and versatility that SDLC Audio represents.
